Two youngsters have been arrested from Siolim, including a minor, for allegedly stealing two-wheelers, Mapusa police said on Monday.
A total of four two-wheelers worth Rs 3 lakh have been recovered from the alleged accused.
The minor is presently lodged at Apna Ghar, a protective home at Merces.
The accused has been identified as Aaron Steven Monteiro resident of Bamonvaddo, Siolim. The minor boy (17) is also from Siolim.
Dattaram Hanumant Mandrekar had filed a complaint that his scooter worth Rs 50,000 was missing from its parking place at Dangui Colony, Mapusa on January 6.
Mapusa Police Inspector, Paresh Naik informed that after meticulous efforts they arrested the accused and recovered the scooter and three other two-wheelers.
The following two-wheelers were attached from the accused: Yamaha Fascino scooter (GA-03-AE-4811), Hero Passion motorcycle (MH-07-U-8291), Hero Splendour motorcycle (GA-03-D-7045) and Honda Activa scooter (GA-03-AN-4935).
The recovered two-wheelers were worth Rs 3 lakh.
The police team led by Mapusa PI Paresh Naik included Head Constables Keshav Naik, and Sushant Chopdekar and Police Constables Prakash Polekar, Abhishek Kasar, Anand Rathod and Akshay Patil.
Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi and SP North Nidhin Valsan monitored the investigation.
