Will the Maina Curtorim police station have an independent police station building in the next five years?
This question has come to the fore as the land acquired by the government to house the Maina Curtorim police station building at Sonsodo has not been put to use for the intended purpose.
Four-time Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has said that he would make every attempt to have an independent building for the Maina Curtorim police station.
The Independent Curtorim MLA said that he had got the Maina Curtorim police station shifted from the South Goa District headquarters to the police station jurisdiction at a government building at Raia.
“We have taken the first step by shifting the police station from Margao to Raia. There are certain issues that need to be addressed. But, certainly, every attempt will be made to get an independent building for Maina Curtorim police station”, he added.
