VASCO:
Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar donated two years of his salary towards the rehabilitation of traders affected by the devastating fire at the Vasco Sunday Market, at a special programme in the Ravindra Bhavan at Baina.
Salkar handed over financial assistance to the affected shopkeepers in the presence of the market association president and other committee members.
Speaking on the occasion Salkar said the fire tragedy had deeply affected the trading community and that the immediate priority was to ensure that the affected shopkeepers received all possible support to get back on their feet
"This is a small contribution from my side to help these traders overcome their losses. While the amount may not compensate for the losses they have suffered, I hope it will provide some support as they work towards rebuilding their businesses," Salkar said.
The affected traders expressed their gratitude to Salkar for keeping his word and extending financial assistance from his personal earnings. They appreciated his gesture, describing it as a demonstration of genuine concern for the difficulties faced by the market community during a particularly challenging period.
