Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar on Monday morning along with his wife councillor Shami Salkar and others cleaned up the Datta Temple in Orulem as part of Nationwide Movement to clean temples to commemorate Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtapana at Ayodhya on January 22.

Speaking to media later, Salkar said that the PM Narendra Modi had appealed to all the people to start a cleanliness drive and clean the areas around the temples to celebrate the occasion.

"The spiritual environment is spread across the country as the most awaited dream of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya will become a reality in a few days. Lord Ram is the idol of several Indians and every temple committee across all the states in India want to celebrate this big moment by doing some good things because everyone cannot go to Ayodhya now, " said Salkar.

"All the temples have organised various programs on January 22 to commemorate the Pran Pratishtapana of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya and while some temples are having Mahaprasad, some are having cultural programmes while others are taking to lighting of thousands of lamps around temples and houses," he said.

"This environment has got all the people together and everyone small or big, man or woman ,no matter how busy they may be are trying to participate in the programme on January 22 as their contribution on the big day. It is a matter of pride for me to be a karyakarta of BJP party whose supremo Narendra Modi is fulfilling all his promises even at his age . Modi has been instrumental in making reforms and getting the country to be one of the biggest economies in the world," said Salkar.

Councillor Shami Salkar also spoke on the occasion and praised the Vasco BJP Mahila Morcha for spending their time to clean the temple despite their busy schedule.
