MMC clears Sadekar passage of garbage

MARGAO

The Margao Municipal Council on Tuesday cleared the Sadekar lane, which has been a perennial place for waste dumping.

Margao Municipal ward councillor Dr Ronita Ajgaonkar, besides sanitary inspector Viraj Arabekar and former MMC chairperson Rajendra Ajgaonkar, inspected the Sadekar passage and got the area cleaned of the waste.

The sanitary inspector pointed out that the MMC has now parked a mini-truck at the passage, as he requested the owners of business establishments and residents to dump their waste inside the vehicle instead of disposing of the same in the passage.

Dr Ronita pointed out that she has got the MMC officials to rid the passage of the waste since it was the busiest lane in the commercial capital.

“It has been our endeavour to ensure that the passages and lanes are rid of the garbage and waste,” she said while thanking the MMC officials for taking up the job on top priority.
