GOACAN on Tuesday filed a complaint with the KTCL Margao Depot Manager Girish Gaude with regards to the overcharging and other violations by the Pay Parking Contractor at the KTC Bus Stand Margao.
It may be noted that KTCL had recently issued a contract to a private party for the collection of the parking fees at the Margao bus stand in which various conditions were stipulated.
GOACAN coordinator Roland Martins, however, claimed that the contractor had started collecting parking fees at the KTC bus stand without undertaking to display a board at the parking area with various rates for the pay parking. He further said the Pay Parking Attendant must wear a uniform and carry an Identity Card, further saying there should be multiple options for pay parking - one hour, every additional half-hour etc.
He said during its ongoing Consumer Rights & Responsibilities Awareness Drive, GOACAN received grievances about overcharging which after verifying the same, filed the complaint.
