MoI: BBSM 'pamphlets' to expose BJP's stand

MARGAO

The Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Samiti (BBSM) on Friday decided to distribute pamphlets ward-wise in all the constituencies to expose the BJP for back-stabbing the medium of instruction (MoI) movement and to teach the party a lesson.

After the meeting, BBSM leader Adv Uday Bhembre told The Goan that the pamphlets distribution campaign will commence from next week and will be carried out by a dedicated band of BBSM supporters in all the 40 constituencies.

“Today, we have released the pamphlet at the meeting held in Fatorda on Friday evening. It will be distributed ward-wise in all the 40 constituencies by BBSM workers from next week,” he said.

Replying to a question, Bhembre said that the pamphlet has detailed how the BJP has gone back on its promise on the MoI issue and back-stabbed the movement. “The pamphlet makes an appeal to the people to teach the BJP a lesson,” he said.

Stating that the pamphlet distribution is the first phase of the agitation, Bhembre mentioned that the second phase will focus on building public opinion, followed by calling on the MLAs to support the BBSM stand on MoI. The BBSM has also planned a public meeting at Lohia Maidan, Margao before further intensifying the agitation and take it to its logical conclusion.

Today’s meeting was addressed by Deep Karapurkar, Kiran Nayak, besides Bhembre.
