Days after the rap from the High Court which has sought an explanation from the government over alleged funding of a nursing institute promoted by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to the tune of Rs 3 crore from the District Mineral Fund (DMF), the chief minister’s office has clarified that the institute has not taken any such funding.

“It is clarified that a scheme was approved under the District Mineral Fund towards Sai Nursing Institute under rural development initiative in mining affected areas. However, the institute did not take any benefit of the scheme and no amount was disbursed,” the CMO said.

“Sai Nursing Institute has written to DMF that it does not require any funding,” it added.
