Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, on Sunday evening, requested all bar owners in the Mormugao Constituency to close down on Monday in observance of the holy day of Pran Pratishtha of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Amonkar emphasized that the Pran Pratishtha celebration would be conducted on a grand scale in the constituency.
“It is a very holy day, and I request all the bar and wine shop owners in Mormugao Constituency to close their establishments for just one day to commemorate the Pran Pratishtha function. While I cannot force anyone to halt their business, I can only request this for a single day, given the sanctity of the occasion,” said Amonkar.
Speaking on preparations from the ceremony, Amonkar said, “Celebrations are on a scale similar to Diwali, with people lighting lamps and adorning their houses with huge lightings. We believe that this celebration should also be on a grand scale, and we have organised several programmes across the constituency. All the temples will host bhajans, abhiseks, and poojas. Screens have been set up in all temples to telecast the live Pran Pratishtha programme at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Lighting arrangements have been made throughout the constituency, and special boxes containing lamps, diyas, Rangoli powder, scarves, and flags have been distributed to all houses in the constituency.”
