In anticipation of the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Porvorim is aglow with a symbolic Deepotsav atmosphere.
On Saturday night, the local temples illuminated the town with Diyas, marking the homecoming of Shri Ram. Rajya Sabha member Sadanand Shet Tanavde, Tourism Minister and Local MLA Rohan Khaunte, panchayat leaders and locals came together for this celebratory occasion.
A pivotal gathering is scheduled for Monday, January 22, at the Goa Housing Board plot opposite the SCERT building along the service road. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will headline the event as the chief guest, joined by Union Minister of State for Tourism Sripad Naik, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavde, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Dy Speaker Joshua D’Souza, Saligao MLA Kedar Naik, and Sanvordem MLA Ganesh Gaonkar as distinguished guests.
The evening’s programme will commence with a Bhajan Sandhya at 6 pm, followed by Sayam Prarthana “ a collective recital of stotras from 6.30 pm to 7.15 pm Classical dance performances on the Ramayan theme captivate from 7.15 pm to 7.45 pm, leading to a Dindi Performance with Ram Gajar and the illumination of 1000 diyas by devotees from 7.45 pm to 8.30 pm Dignitaries sternly address the gathering from 8.30 pm to 9 pm, culminating in a Maha Arti at 9 pm The event will conclude with the distribution of Prasand and a spectacular fireworks display at 9.30 p.m.
The National Highway no 17 stretch from Mandovi bridge junction to Mall de Goa is adorned with Akashkandil and banners of Lord Ram, and the service road radiantly glows, setting the stage for a momentous celebration.
