Overlooking Goa’s own talented artistes, the BJP government has hired outstation artistes for the musical programme as part of the three-day festivities at Ravindra Bhavan in South Goa to commemorate the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
“Is this the ‘Swayampurna Goa’ of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant? When will Goan artistes get opportunities?,” asked Divya Kumar who heads the Congress’ Social Media cell.
Kumar demanded that Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude respond.
The party also posted on micro-blogging site ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) objecting to outstation artistes performing at the music concert organised at Ravindra Bhavan on Friday as part of the three-day festivities being held to mark the consecration of the temple in Ayodhya.
This concert will also be held at the Ravindra Bhavan in Vasco and some other places in Goa. “Why were singers and musicians from Goa not given a chance to perform? Why can’t the BJP set up a ‘commission deal’ with actors in Goa?” Kumar asked.
Kumar alleged that local BJP politicians were attempting to make a quick buck and appealed to Goans not to get carried away by BJP’s false propaganda.
