Mother-in-law accuses daughter-in-law of stealing gold

A mother-in-law has lodged a police complaint against her daughter-in-law, accusing her of stealing gold ornaments and other valuables from her house in Canacona. In her complaint, Julie Carneiro, a resident of Vasco and a permanent resident of Dapot, Mashem, Canacona, accused her daughter-in-law Tamsin Sabina Tellis, who resides in Mumbai, of allegedly stealing valuables including gold ornaments and documents worth Rs 17,56,440 from their house at Dapot-Mashem in Loliem-Polem village.

The theft allegedly took place before October 27, 2024, at an unknown time, from the house at Dapot, Mashem.

Carneiro told police that the stolen valuables, including gold ornaments and documents, belonged to her daughter and son. She alleged that her daughter-in-law took the items from the house without their knowledge or consent.

Canacona police have registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Ajit Velip of Canacona Police Station.
