Muthalik threatens contempt case against Goa

Criticising the Goa government for extending his ban in the State even though the matter was being heard in the Supreme Court, disgruntled Sri Ram Sene supremo Pramod Muthalik has plans to file a contempt case against Goa before the apex court.
Muthalik also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of losing its ideology, adding that it would be defeated at the assembly elections in Goa.
He was reacting strongly to the North Goa District Magistrate's decision to extend the entry ban on him and the members of his right-wing group by 60 days, with effect from January 17.
Speaking to The Goan, Muthalik refuted the conditions for imposing the ban on his entry in Goa as baseless and stated that he would re-enter Goa with dignity.
“The honourable Supreme Court has issued a notice to Goa seeking explanation over the ban within four weeks. As the matter is being heard, Goa government has defied the Supreme Court’s order and extended the ban.”
“I am yet to receive a copy of the extension of ban and will meet my counsels soon, to chalk out our future course of action. After waiting for four weeks as per the Supreme Court's order to Goa in seeking explanations on the ban, I am planning to file the contempt petition against Goa,” Muthalik said.
Muthalik also strongly criticized the Goa government and the BJP leaders, who he said, had lost credibility among the people.
“After the RSS and MGP parted ways with the BJP in Goa, the image of the party and its leaders have suffered severe damage This, in turn, is going to cause a huge loss to the party in the Assembly elections. I am 100 percent sure that the BJP will not come back to power in Goa,” Muthalik said.
Alleging that the decision of extending ban on his entry in Goa was initiated by the ruling BJP due to fear of weakening its winning prospects in the elections, Muthalik said the BJP leaders who have no sincerity left in them are now trying to woo the people of Goa by extending the ban on him.
