The sleeper hit Konkani film Nachom-ia Kumpasar has made Goa proud once again, winning an award at the 2016 Tiburon Film Festival in the United States. The film won in the Best Musical category.
The film has been championing the Konkani cause across the world, still playing to full houses even in Australia and the Middle East. It made it to the reminder list at this year’s Academy Awards, thus getting it a foothold in America. Now at Tiburon, director Bardroy Baretto has added another feather to his hat.
The Tiburon International Film Festival is an annual event that showcases short and independent films from across the world. The award ceremony was held on Friday, April 15 in California.
