NCP State President Jose Philip D'Souza on Tuesday said he had urged NCP national president Sharad Pawar to take back his resignation."We are surprised and saddened with the decision of Sharad Pawar, who is dedicated to the NCP and was willing to do anything and go to any extent to strengthen the party. Pawar is the main pillar of the party and the person who founded the party along with other leaders and took it to the national level where it is today,” Jose Philip told reporters.
“Pawar’s resignation will have a huge impact on the party at the national level and even in Goa or any other state across the country. As State President of NCP, I have been in touch with all my national leaders and I have pleaded with Sharad Pawar to take back his resignation for the sake of the party and all our people.”
“I have also been in touch with other leaders like Praful Patel and spoke to him on this issue. Patel has called me to Mumbai in two days and I will go to Mumbai in two days and discuss this issue in detail," said D'Souza.
D'Souza described Sharad Pawar as one of the greatest leaders in the country and a leader with a vision.
“He is of utmost importance to the NCP party and we feel the party may not be able to move forward in a strong manner if he offers his resignation because, without his guidance, things will be difficult for the party. We are hopeful that Pawar will take back his decision and makes the party stronger than ever," said D'Souza.
