Nehru's death anniversary observed
PANAJI: The 52nd death anniversary of late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was observed at the Congress House in Panaji.
Speaking on the occasion GPCC president Luizinho Faleiro said Pt Jawarharlal Nehru was a great personality who toiled and contributed to India's freedom and then laid the foundation to make India one of the most important country in the world.
M K Shaikh vice president highlighted Pt Nehru`s participation in the freedom movement and also building up of Indian National Congress.
Shambhu Bhau Bandekar treasurer while offering homage to Pt Nehru lauded his role in enforcing Panchshila principles and introduction of five-year plans in the country.
Dr Ulhas Parab general secretary expressed that late Nehru was the architect of modern India.
Nilkant Halarnkar former tourism minister expressed that the work of Pt Nehru is like a polar star which will inspire all Congressmen in particular and people in general to work for the development of the country.
Earlier Dr Parab welcomed and vice president Babi Bagkar proposed the vote of thanks.
