Nepalese man held with ganja at Tivim railway station

MAPUSA

Colvale Police on Tuesday arrested a 25-year-old Nepalese national at Tivim railway station and seized 3.5 kg of ganja from his possession, as part of the state government’s intensified drive against drugs.

The accused, identified as Roshan Japrel, a resident of Calangute, was intercepted by a special police team after he arrived from Mumbai on the Mandovi Express.

Police said the contraband was intended for sale to customers in Goa.

Investigators revealed that Japrel is a repeat offender, having been arrested earlier in 2024 by Saligao Police in another NDPS case.

Japrel has been booked under the NDPS Act and further investigation is in progress.
