Labour and Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte has said that the state government will come out with an Aadhaar number linked system, which will provide accurate data about unemployed youth by the end of February.
Speaking to media persons, Khaunte said, “We have seen that the data about unemployed youth with the labour department is different from that with the employment exchange. There is duplication of names, cases where candidates register themselves as graduates and later upgrade their skills and again get registered, people working in the private sector who continue to remain registered in hopes of a government job and then there are those who are actually unemployed. We don’t have a clear picture.”
Khaunte further said that the labour department is working on a system, wherein labour and employment data will be collected alongside data from trade bodies like GCCI, CII and GSIA.“Based on this, we will create a scheme for unemployed youth,” he added.
When asked when the labour department will launch this system, Khaunte replied, “This Aadhaar-linked system is in completion stage. It should be launched by the end of this month.”
