MARGAO
Thinking of having a late night pork sausage pao, or rasa omlette pav or a delicious biryani?
The Fatorda Night Food Court could be the next destination as it finally became a reality on Gandhi Jayanti on the parking lot opposite the KTC bus stand.
Unlike kiosks elsewhere, the fast food kiosks at the Night Food Court all have a common design theme and will operate after sunset, with a condition that the kiosks are taken away after business hours, and in no way obstruct vehicular parking on the Margao Municipal Council acquired land.
In his address after the inauguration, Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai said that entertainment can be added to the Night Food Court gradually and appealed to the owners to ensure hygiene at all times.
“We have finally got the food court with Goemkarponn as its central theme. Goa should appear Goem and not Gurgaon and Mumbai. We have given an aesthetic look to the food stalls. At the food court, one can get pork sausages as well as rasa omlete and biryani. We will keep in mind the religious sensibilities in mind as we take
the food court forward,” he added.
The Fatorda MLA has mulled a global food court on the parking lot in due course of time, which will cater to the cuisine of different counties.
“We had embarked on the concept of back to the streets by holding the carnival celebrations on the road. Having night food courts with entertainment can also help offer authentic Goan food to the people,” he added.
The MLA, however, cautioned the stall owners that their license will be liable for revocation if sub-letting takes place. He further cautioned the owners that the license will be withdrawn if it comes to light that matka bets are accepted at these food stalls.
