No one will be harassed during NAKSHA survey, says Minister

Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai has on Wednesday said the government will certainly initiate appropriate action if people of Cuncolim are facing difficulties in submitting land records as part of the ongoing NAKSHA land survey.

The Minister made the statement after attending the Chieftains Uprising Commemoration Day at Cuncolim on Wednesday when the media drew his attention to the issues being faced by the people of Cuncolim, where 70 per cent of the land is being owned by the Sociedade Agricola dos Gauncares de Cuncolim e Veroda, with people having no land and title documents.

The Social Welfare Minister said the government will take appropriate action in the matter. “If the inquiry is starting from Thursday, we appeal to the people to come and submit their documents as well as complaints before the Land survey officials,” he said.
