The Goa Forward has said that the Covid-19 awareness campaign organised by the office of the Quepem Mamlatdar on Monday was a total flop show with hardly four villagers attending the same at the village panchayat hall, Xeldem.
The Goa Forward had requested the South Goa Collector to withdraw the said awareness campaign considering the growing Covid cases in the state. Even after the public appeal made by the GF party, the Quepem mamlatdar office went ahead with the campaign which received very poor response from the villagers.
Goa Forward general secretary Prashant Naik said the awareness campaign which was scheduled at the village Panchayat of Avedem Cottombi in the morning session could not take off as one of the trainers tested Covid positive.
“The evening session was scheduled at VP Xeldem where only one session was conducted for all 9 wards instead of the planned two sessions,” he claimed.
He said the highlight of the campaign was that it was attended by two staffers from Mamlatdar office who were posted on duty, three staff members of VP Xeldem and four villagers who had come to the panchayat for some work and who were made to sit at the session.
