With his complaints to the police producing no results, Chimbel local Rohit Kamat has now petitioned the North Goa Deputy Collector as well as the local panchayat authorities to initiate action against noise pollution done in a guesthouse.
In his petition, Kamat has pointed out that a villa located near his house in Chinchwada has been rented out to a third party who uses the same to run a guesthouse and organises events while playing loud music throughout the night.
Speaking to The Goan, Kamat said that it’s been several months now that the residents in the locality have been put to great inconvenience. “I have complained to Old Goa police about the activity but the same continues after the police leave. On one occasion, I had to complain twice about the loud music menace,” Kamat informed.
Now, fed up that his complaints to the police have not had the desired effect, Kamat has complained to the North Goa deputy collector as well as the Chimbel panchayat to initiate action into the matter.
When contacted, local panch Sandesh Chopdekar and the neighbouring panch Pravin Chopdencar said the activity is being done without any official permissions from the panchayat or other authorities.
They added that the issue will be taken up at the fortnightly meeting on Friday to initiate further action in the matter.
