A woman from Nuvem has been duped by an unknown person to the tune of Rs 4.47 lakh on the promise of being provided with a part-time job opportunity.
The Maina-Curtorim police informed that the victim came across an advertisement on Facebook offering a part-time job opportunity. Believing it to be genuine, the complainant was initially assigned various digital tasks, including reviewing and rating specific items on an online app.
Upon completion of the initial tasks, the unknown accused transferred a sum of Rs 5,000 to the complainant's account to gain her trust.
