Obesity camp at Ponda
PONDA: The Patanjali Research Foundation and Patanjali Yog Samiti (Ponda) have organized a camp for people with obesity at Bhausaheb Bandodkar Maidan in Bandora from 5 am to 7 am on May 8.
Dr Suraj Kanekar, Goa chief of Patanjali Yog Samiti, said on Thursday that PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar will inaugurate the camp. A yog pranayam camp will also be held.
With a message of ‘no harm-weight loss,’ 20 practices of yoga will be taught to those attending the camp, while different tests will be conducted on the patients.
According to Girish Parulekar, the body composition test machine is imported and gives the best result to test obesity.
“Obesity is the main cause of several diseases and hence, precaution is needed to control obesity,” Dr Kanekar said. Blood sugar test and weight test will be conducted.
