OLD GOA: Old Goa police have registered an offence against 48 taxi owners operating at Karmali railway station on charges of participating in a mass strike on August 6.
Old Goa PI Jivba Dalvi informed that a complaint was lodged by the assistant director of transport against the taxi owners for participating in the strike, thereby violating the order of the government and denying services to the public.
“Accordingly, an offence under Section 188 IPC and Section 4 of the Goa Essential Services Maintenance Act 1988 was registered,” PI Dalvi stated.
The police officer further informed that a detailed investigation would be carried out and all the accused persons would be summoned at the police station for investigation.
“The report will then be submitted to the RTO office informing about registration of offence and for necessary actions,” PI Dalvi added. Further investigation is in progress.
