Goa Police came to the rescue of a mother who was being harassed by her son over some property issue in Anjuna.
On Saturday, Shetal (name changed) attended a ‘samadhan session’ (public interaction) organised at the Anjuna Police Station and explained to the senior police officers that her son would constantly abuse her over property issue and prayed for some action against her abusive son.
Anjuna Police warned the son not to interfere with his mother and also initiated a chapter case against him under section 107 CrPC.
The public interaction which was presided by Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi received good response at Anjuna Police Station with almost 30 citizens attending the session. Anjuna PI Prashal Dessai was also present.
Several senior citizens attended the programme and expressed their grievances to the senior police officials.
A senior citizen reported to the police that a resort (Baale Resort) was playing loud music which was disturbing the peace of the village. He said the music was played beyond the mandatory hours and disturbing their sleep late in the night.
The police directed the management of the resort to obtain necessary permission to play music and to stop playing music beyond 10 pm.
The beat staff was also directed to conduct patrolling in the coastal belt and ensure that no music was played beyond 10 pm.
Yet another local complained about an alleged illegal construction of a bridge at Munang-vaddo in Assagao.
He also informed that stones were dumped in the parking place obstructing the movement of the public.
“In this case we will write to the water resources department to verify the illegal construction of the bridge. We will also submit a chapter case under section 133 CrPC against the offender,” Dalvi informed.
Several other minor complaints were also resolved on the spot by the police during the session.
“The samadhan session received good response at the Anjuna Police Station. We will continue to hold such sessions on Saturdays at different police stations,” the Mapusa SDPO said.
He appealed to the residents to participate in the programme.
