MARGAO: A two-wheeler rider was injured when he was knocked down by a Maruti van at Davondem-Ambaji.
One held for bar brawl
MARGAO: The Maina-Curtorim police arrested a man, who, along with two others, is suspected to have allegedly assaulted a 19-year-old youth in a bar at Macazana.
Acording to Maina-Curtorim police, the incident occurred on September 25, when the complainant, one Sohil (19) was allegedly assaulted with a bottle and blows by the suspected trio of Viju, resident of Davorlim; Arun, a resident of Curtorim and Kingsley, a resident of Macazana, at a bar in Macazana.
In his complaint lodged with Maina-Curtorim police, the complainant claimed that his gold chain was also damaged in the incident and pegged the damage at Rs 75,000. He also claimed that he and his friends were abused and threatened with dire consequences by the suspected trio.
Acting on the complaint, Maina-Curtorim police arrested one suspect Arun who was later released on bail. An offence under Sections 324, 427, 504, 506 r/w 34 of IPC has also been registered.
Further investigations are in progress.

Rider injured in Ambaji accident
According to Margao town police, the Maruti van, driven by one Sarang, a resident of Nuvem, was proceeding from Nuvem to Margao where it knocked down a Vespa scooter rider, one Baldion (72), a resident of Madel-Margao, at Davondem-Ambaji thereby injuring him in the process.
Margao town police have registered an offence under Sections 279 and 337 of IPC.
