One held in rape case
PONDA: Ponda Police on Thursday arrested a 30-year-old resident of Marad-Dharbandora on charges of raping a 28-year-old woman.
According to Ponda Police, the accused, Premanand Gaonkar, on the pretext of marrying the victim raped her from February 2015 to November 2015 at two places in Ponda taluka. The victim lodged a police complaint after the accused failed to keep his word of marriage.
Sources informed that both were working in a company in Ponda taluka. Police is investigating the case.
