One hurt in accident

MAPUSA: A 75-year-old pedestrian from Ecoxim in Bardez was injured after he was knocked down by a scooter at Tarir-Ecoxim.

According to Mapusa Police, the scooter (GA-07-A-8577) was proceeding from Pomburpa towards Saloi-Britona, when it dashed the pedestrian, Anand Fadte, who sustained injuries to his leg and hand. Police is investigating the case.

Theft at Sawantwada housePERNEM: Cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh were stolen from a house at Sawantwada-Halarna in Pernem. According to Pernem Police, Suchal Revodkar of Sawantwada-Halarna complained that burglars had entered her house by removing the tiles of the roof, sometime between 8 am on January 25 and 4 pm on January 26, and had stolen gold ornaments and cash of Rs 4,000, all worth Rs 2 lakh. Pernem Police is investigating the case.
