The State Government has decided to extend the time frame for submitting applications for regularising unauthorised structures by another month.
The last date of application for regularising unauthorised structures in the State ended on December 24.
Speaking to The Goan, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said, “I have already signed the file. Notification has still not been issued. But we have decided to grant extension of another one month.”
“The issue has been taken very seriously in many talukas like Quepem and Pernem, while some have sprung into action now. So there was a demand to increase the time frame for submitting applications by at least three months. But we have decided only on a month as code of conduct will come into force soon”, said chief minister who was also of the opinion that all MLAs should pursue the matter seriously.
In all, the State Government has received 2190 applications with Quepem taluka topping the list with 614 application followed by Pernem with 499 applications. Additionally, 211 have been received from Bardez, 286 from Salcete and 174 from Ponda. Interestingly, only one application has been received from Salcete taluka.
