High school students of Shrishthal were given an orientation on the classification and waste disposal under the Swachh Bharat Mission by Shrishthal Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC).
The Shristhal, Panchayat under the Directorate of Panchayats had organised a special programme in the Panchayat hall, where an essay writing and painting competitions were held for high school students.
A special session was organised for various committee members and Self-Help Groups working in the panchayat areas along with the students in the segregation/classification and disposal of waste under Swatch Bharat Mission.
Sarpanch Sejal Gaonkar was the chief guest, while Panch Akshada Velip, Panchayat Secretary Sushant Lolyekar, Shrishthal Biodiversity Committee Chairman Vinay Tubki, Member Shirish Pai, Teacher Tukaram Salgaonkar, Gangesh Velip and Resource Officer Sujit Naik were also present.
All students were given certificates for participating in the programme.
Earlier, Sarpanch Sejal Gaonkar welcomed the gathering, while Teacher Tukaram Salgaonkar and BMC Chairman Vinay Tubki expressed their thoughts on the occasion.
Sujit Naik guided the students on waste disposal and classification. Shirish Pai moderated the programme and later proposed the vote of thanks.
