The gram sabha of Orlim village panchayat on Sunday resolved to prepare a draft CZMP for the village.
The meeting chaired by Sarpanch Tamica Da Silva constituted a committee of gram sabha members headed by Chairman Donato Da Costa to seek inputs from the villagers before incorporating the same in the plan.
The draft plan will be placed before the gram sabha before it is forwarded to the government.
The meeting also discussed issues on water conservation and harvesting scheme mooted by PM Narendra Modi.
After discussions, it was resolved to take up work on the village lakes and ponds under the scheme. Members also expressed concern over the traditional sluice gates lying in a damaged state. The meeting resolved to initiate repair works on them.
The waste issue also figured. The panchayat came in for praise for its move to engage workers to keep the roadside free from litter. It also announced plans to start wet waste collection from the households in the near future.
