OTS scheme for water consumers re-launched

Public Works Department (PWD) on Friday re-launched the One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme to recover unpaid water bill dues from around 44,000 defaulting consumers. 

The total outstanding amount is Rs 92 crore of which principal amount is Rs 32 crore, informed PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral. 

The scheme will be open only for one month, after that, from February 2023, Public Works Department will start disconnecting water supply connections of defaulters, Cabral warned.

Earlier, the One Time Settlement was introduced on December 31, 2020 for a one-month period upto January 31, 2021, which was later extended to February 28, 2021.
