2 Manipur natives held with drugs
PANAJI: Panaji Police have arrested two men from Manipur with 3.7 kg of opium worth Rs 8 lakh.
The duo was nabbed by the police on Monday and both hail from Myang-Imphal.
The accused Angom Meyitri (20) was caught with 2.6 kg opium approximately worth Rs 5.5 lakh and Michael Thokchom (26) was caught with 1.1 kg of the substance worth approximately Rs 2.5 lakh in the international market.
Upon receiving a tip-off that the two men would arrive in the capital city with the narcotic substance, Panaji Police personnel were deployed around the KTC bus stand and Patto.
The two are suspected to be peddlers for a larger network.
Porvorim local held for bike theft
PANAJI: Panaji Police on Tuesday arrested one Subhash Mirda (3), resident of Porvorim and native of Ranchi, Jharkhand in a case of bike theft. The stolen Hero Honda Splendor worth Rs 20,000 was recovered from Miramar.
The complainant, Abhay Karande from Milrock, Ribandar complained that his motorcycle was stolen from a spot near Hotel Sona at Patto-Panaji on Monday night.
The bike was traced by Tuesday evening at Miramar, the police informed.
