Unhappy with the appointment of an advisory committee on MoI, parents of St Cruz and Taleigao constituencies submitted separate memorandums to MLAs Babush Monserrate and Jeniffer Monserrate respectively demanding scrapping of the committee.
The memorandums, signed by parents of students studying in Our Lady of Merces HS-Merces, Santa Cruz HS, Auxilium HS-Caranzalem and Red Rosary HS-Miramar, were submitted to the MLAs at Babush’s Taleigao office, on Monday.
The parents further urged the MLAs to raise the issue in the Assembly conveying their sentiments and demand the passing of the Bill, which is currently with the Select Committee.
Exhorting that both the MLAs are with the parents and support their demands, Babush Monserrate stated that the appointment of an advisory committee is only a delaying tactic by the BJP government and a way to fool the parents.
“The BJP is interested only in garnering Catholic votes during the forthcoming Assembly elections and if they come back to power they will discontinue the grants to the 125 Diocesan schools,” Monserrate further stated.
He also stated that the RSS and BJP are only involved in shadow boxing to fool the people. “The RSS and BJP are two sides of the same coin,” he cautioned.
