Over 290 youth from 147 parishes all over Goa recently participated in the annual All Goa Parish Youth Representatives (ExCo) Meet of the Diocesan Youth Centre (DYC) at Old Goa.
The event, which was a blend of spiritual zest, fun-filled learning and joyful interaction, was aimed at orienting and training youth representatives to form and animate their parish youth groups.
The meet began with animations and icebreakers, followed by a briefing by the DYC Director, Fr Blaise Lobo, on the statutes and guidelines of the DYC.
Guest speaker Feliza Goes introduced and informed about project ‘HOPE’, an initiative of Caritas-Goa, which caters to adults and especially youngsters in distress.
Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrao presided over the Eucharistic celebration, which was themed to remind the youth that ‘hope does not disappoint us’.
During the event, the youth were also introduced to various formative programmes of the DYC along with a platform to learn and exchange many new ideas that would benefit the youth ministry in their parishes.
After lunch, Fr Blaise led a group discussion on the DYC annual planner along with the sharing of the best activities conducted in parishes.
Later, the youth engaged in message-based fun activities. The representatives were given special Jubilee 2025 keychains as a token of hope.
