"I understand that some people were left out of the interest waiver scheme. I have spoken to SBI and other banks, it will be restarted," Parrikar said while replying to the demand for grants to the mines department. Parrikar also promised to expedite the issues of the mining bypass corridors doling out several promises, which he said would be fulfilled after the code of conduct is lifted. Several legislators including Michael Lobo and Nilkanth Halarnkar raised the issues of mining of minor minerals like sand and stone. They alleged that government strictures were driving the price of the building material out of the reach of the common man.
