Ailing Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is expected to return to Goa by the third week of May upon the conclusion of the next phase of his ongoing treatment, which is scheduled to begin in the next week.
In a message addressing the state executive committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Parrikar expressed regret at his inability to attend the committee’s meeting owing to his treatment. It was for the first time that the BJP’s state executive committee met in Parrikar’s absence.
“My next phase of treatment is starting from next week and I am hoping to return to Goa by third week of May,” the message reads.
BJP State president Vinay Tendulkar informed that Parrikar shared a telephonic communication with several leaders of the party prior to the meeting and conveyed his opinions on the agenda.
Parrikar advised the BJP state executive committee to take stock of the political situation in the state and to prepare for the national president Amit Shah’s visit in May. He also asked the party to prepare for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in order to retain both the seats in Goa.

Amit Shah to visit Goa on May 13
PANAJI: BJP general secretary Sadanand Shet Tanavade announced that the party’s national president Amit Shah is expected to visit the state on May 13. “He will arrive to overlook the functioning of the party organization. We are planning to host a mega meet at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium which will be preceded by a massive state wide two-wheeler rally,” Tanavade informed. He hinted that the bike rally will witness participation from around 10,000 two-wheelers from all 40 constituencies.
