PORVORIM
Recalling former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar as a leader known for his clean image, blunt talk and development initiative, industrialist Rupesh Kamat said Parrikar was an inspiration to all Goans.
Addressing a gathering at a function organised by Vidhyaprabodhini in Porvorim to mark the third death anniversary of Parrikar, Kamat said the former Chief Minister had been instrumental in raising the profile of the BJP from just four members in the assembly in 1994 to its present status as a ruling party.
“Despite achieving success, Parrikar remained a common man till his last breath. From RSS worker to BJP karyakrata to chief minister and defence minister, his journey was mesmerising and is a source of inspiration to all Goans,” said Kamat.
Others present on the occasion included President of Prabhodan Education Society Sanjay Walavalkar, Secretary of the Society Rajendra Bhobe, Principal of Vidhyaprabodini college Bhushan Bhave, Headmaster of Samant High School Mhalsakant Deshpande, Vice Principal Dina Bandokar and others.
