Aggrieved taxi operators in Pernem on Wednesday burnt the forms for the ‘Blue Taxi’ service at the Manohar International Airport at Mopa, after claiming that these Blue Taxis were not acceptable to them.
The taxi operators have demanded a counter for Yellow-Black taxi, failing which they will stage a protest at the RTO office.
Stating this, Sudip Tamhankar, who is leading the taxi operators, claimed the ‘Blue Taxi’ service is a mockery of the Motor Vehicle Act.
“The government is not giving us forms according to the law. We are burning the forms, because it is not acceptable to us. The government should wake up and give us a Yellow-Black taxi stand,” insisted Tamhankar.
