In an interesting development, the Goa police has transferred and posted Margao police station in charge PI Filomena Costa to the Colva Police Station.
Colva Police Station in charge PI Tulsidas Naik has been transferred and posted as Margao police station in charge. The two officers will take up the postings immediately and will hold charge until further orders.
Both PI Costa and PI Naik were transferred and posted at the Margao and Colva police stations respectively over a fortnight ago.
However, PI Costa had come under the scanner after social activist Aires Rodrigues had earlier this week petitioned to the State Election Commission stating that there may be a conflict of interest in the case of PI Costa since his relatives are planning to contest the panchayat elections in Davorlim and Navelim.
As far as PI Tulsidas Naik is concerned, many an eyebrow was raised along Salcete coastal belt after the newly posted police officer had proceeded on leave immediately after taking charge of the Colva police station.
