The Directorate of Settlement and Land Records (DSLR) has filed a complaint of forgery and tampering of DSLR seals against a person from Marna-Siolim.
In the complaint filed by the Superintendent of Survey and Land Records Maya Amonkar, it is stated that SIT Crime Branch requested for verification of a Correspondence Certificate (CC) relied upon by the accused in relation to a property in Anjuna.
It came to light that the Correspondence Certificate was a forged one as the outward number for the same was never issued.
Further, the signature of the superintendent was also found to be forged and the seal fabricated. Moreover, the survey number of the property did not correspond with the cadastral survey number.
The DSLR has asked the police to initiate probe by booking the culprit/s involved in the commission of the crime for acts of forgery, manipulation of records, fabrication of seals, and other relevant offences.
