Pilar Society gets 11 new priests

The 11 newly ordained priests of the Pilar Society.

The Society of the Missionaries of St. Francis Xavier, commonly known as Society of Pilar, is blessed with 11 new priests from Goa and other parts of India.

This year too, the second wave of Covid-19 affected the normal celebration of the ordination, which was celebrated with a limited number of people.

Cruzberto Da Silva Colaco, Clanny Fernandes, Stefan Colaco, Darrell Fernandes and Nithesh Nishanth D’Souza were ordained by Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao at the All India Mission Seminary Chapel, Pilar.

Sushil Xalxo was ordained by Bishop Vincent Barwa at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Tumdega, Simdega-Jharkhand, while Andrew Joseph was ordained by Bishop Emeritus Singarayan of Selam at Holy Rosary Church, Palayamkottai, Tamil Nadu.

Marcelino D’Costa was ordained by Bishop Barthol Barretto at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Ambernath, Maharashtra, while Wilson Godad was ordained by Bishop Allwyn Barretto at St Anthony Church, Adkur-Maharashtra.

Reginald Kerketta and Ashim Minj were ordained by Auxiliary Bishop of Ranchi Theodore Mascarenhas at at Mediatrix of All Graces Church, Ranchi.

All the newly ordained are already serving the people in different places in India.

Fr Cruzberto, Fr Darrell, Fr Wilson and Fr Andrew are assigned to serve in the Diocese of Goa and Daman

Fr Stefan and Fr Sushil has been assigned to Reckong Peo, Kinnuar district of Himachal Pradesh, while Fr Ashim has been posted in Wimberligunj in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Fr Clanny is assigned to serve in Kherwara, Udaipur Diocese in Rajasthan, while Fr Marcelino and Fr Nithesh are serving in Delhi and Kalianpur-Karnataka respectively.
