Pilerne sports complex by December

Pilerne-Marra Sarpanch Amarnath Govekar said the construction work of the first phase of sports complex near the panchayat ghar has begun. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1.8 crore, and the work is expected to be completed by December 2016.
Govekar was speaking after launching the reconstruction work of the nullah in PDA Colony.
Govekar said the nullah is filled with garbage, due to which the road near Jivottam Matt gets submerged during rains. “Hence, this nullah which is 25 metres-long is being reconstructed by WRD at a cost of Rs 16 lakh,” he added.
“During the last 4 years, developmental works to the tune of nearly Rs 25 crore has been carried out in the panchayat area, which includes construction and hot-mix carpeting of roads, installation of new transformers, street lights, erection of electricity poles, construction of drainages, etc,” said Govekar.
Earlier, assistant engineer of WRD Ravlu Shetye said the work of the nullah will be completed within 3 months.
