Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai on Tuesday said his party will erect a bust of Dr Jack de Sequeira at his ancestral village of Moira.
He said the bust will be erected on Dr Sequeira's birth anniversary on April 20.
"This government fails to observe Opinion Poll day as an important event of Goa’s history. Goa Forward Party will give the rightful recognition to the Father of Opinion Poll through our proactive initiatives like the Opinion Poll Square in Margao," Sardesai said.
The Goa Forward chief was addressing a gathering as the chief guest at the 1st All Goa Our Lady Of Immaculate Conception 7-a-side football tournament at Moira.
Speaking further, Sardesai said the present government has failed to give due recognition to Goa’s Father Of Opinion Poll, Dr Jack de Sequeira.
He said the Goa Forward Party will ensure that tall leaders of Goa who have worked to preserve the Goan identity are given their rightful place.
Goa Forward Working President Kiran Kandolkar, Moira Deputy Sarpanch Oswald Cordeiro, Moira Parish Priest Fr Alexander Pereira, Shekhar Kerkar, Ashwin D’Souza and others were present on the occasion.
