An unidentified caller allegedly duped a Cuncolim resident of Rs 30,500 after allegedly inducing the victim to disclose his ATM card details on telephone. According to Cuncolim police, the incident occurred on July 5 when the victim, one Samson, a resident of Cuncolim, was fraudulently induced by an unidentified caller, who identified himself as an employee of a Mumbai-based nationalised bank, and coaxed the victim into disclosing his Mumbai ATM card details after which an amount of Rs 30,500 was fraudulently withdrawn from the victim's account. Cuncolim police have registered an offence under Section 419 of IPC.

MARGAO: A 20-year-old lady committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence at Talsanzor, Moti Dongor, Margao. According to Margao town police, the incident occurred on Wednesday when the deceased committed suicide at her residence. Police said the deceased took the extreme step within seven years of her marriage. The SDM, Margao, conducted the scene of panchnama in the presence of two panch witnesses and is further conducting inquiry into this matter. Margao town police have registered an offence under Section 174 of IPC.
