The Margao police were on the job on Friday evening after they found a sticker pasted on the board of a city petrol pump.
The sticker had an image of a machine gun with a message in Hindi directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Margao police station in-charge PI Arun Desai instructed his men to remove the sticker from the petrol pump board. He also deployed a team to find out whether similar stickers had been pasted elsewhere in the city.
The police are also trying to obtain CCTV footage in a bid to find the people who played the mischief.
Meanwhile, PI Desai said the police are investigating the matter and will initiate appropriate action.
