Police seize 3 overloaded trucks with black metal in Curtorim
The three vehicles which were detained by the Maina-Curtorim police.

MARGAO
The Maina-Curtorim police on Saturday detained three vehicles carrying black metal on complaint of overloading and transporting the items sans complying with the mandatory requirements.

The police directed the drivers of the three vehicles to park the trucks at the Police outpost at Sao Jose de Areal for further inquiries and action.

The action came after social activist Freddy Travasso complained to the police that the three heavy duty trucks were carrying black metal in an overloaded condition. He pointed out heavy trucks carrying goods such as black metal are required to cover the vehicle with tarpaulin sheets to prevent spillage and to contain dust pollution. “After I brought the matter to the notice of the Maina-Curtorim police, the police came and brought the three vehicles. I hope the police would conduct an inquiry and initiate action against the owners of the vehicles,” he said.
