The police top brass descended on the ground on the day of polling as the polling passed off peacefully without any untoward incident.
District Police Chief, South, SP Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS, Margao Sub-divisional Police Officer, DySP Sahil Narangal personally descended on the ground to take stock of the law and order situation and instill confidence in the men-in-uniform.
Both the SP Pankaj Kumar Singh and his DySP, Sahil Narangal visited Benaulim constituency to monitor the situation, following complaints that groups of people were making an assembly very close to the polling station.
Salcete Mamlatdar Prataprao Gaonkar also descended on the ground in Benaulim along with Colva police station in-charge, PI Melson Colaco to ensure that the complaints are attended to and to avert any law and order incident.
