Porvorim link road a death trap
Two schools located on this incomplete road

The link road (service road) at Porvorim, which starts at the District Institute of Training and Education and ends at Hero showroom, has become an accident-prone zone.
Though the work of link road has not been completed fully, vehicles have already started plying along the road and due to the ongoing work of the third Mandovi bridge, traffic police have started diverting heavy vehicles via the link road.
Several minor accidents have taken place along the road, particularly at the entrance of Housing Board Colony opposite Delfino Mart, Azad Bhavan and Sanjay School junctions.
Former Penha-da-Franca sarpanch Bhiku Sawant said two schools “ Dona Leonara Memorial High School and Sanjay School “ are located along the link road and diverting heavy vehicles on this road could prove dangerous.
“Traffic police should stop diverting heavy vehicles in the morning and instead, erect speed breakers at strategic locations on the service road, such as the entrance of Housing Board Colony, Azad Bhavan and Sanjay School immediately to avoid recurrence of accidents,” said Sawant.
